Giorgio Ponticelli's freQuencies

freQuencies was my second radio show on Digitally Imported radio, Internet’s biggest radio channel for electronic music.

My philosophy on the radio show was to keep the rotation as fresh as possible. I tried to play new tracks on each and every show creating a unique playlist every time, the way I did this was by playing promos that I received directly from producers who agreed to have them played on the show. I have never been a fan of playing whatever music is trendy but rather the music I enjoy and I thought this was a brilliant way to promote talent at the same time.

Most of these tracks were unreleased, soon the show attracted a lot of attention from all the upcoming producers on the scene who saw the show as a launch platform for their music. A&Rs from a lot of different independent labels were regularly tuning into the show because of the “Fresh Rotation” – as I used to call it.

Guests were also regularly featured and a lot of the current “heroes” of the electronic music scene got their first radio play / DJ set on my show ;)
