Just-Eat acquires Clickeat in Italy

I am proud to announce that the Just-Eat Group has purchased Clickeat.it – the Italian market leader in online food ordering. The acquisition comes after a lot of hard work from Just-Eat’s international team.

With Clickeat.it we now have a great platform to start our Italian operations: Antonino Guarnaccia & Ivan Molella (the founders of Clickeat) have done a fantastic job during the first years of activity educating the Italian market about the online ordering opportunity, building a solid B2C and B2B base that we are now ready to take to the next level.

I am currently a member of the Italian board and I am particularly happy about launching into my homecountry after launching Just-Eat into so many different markets abroad. Southern Europe is ready for this opportunity and at Just-Eat we are very happy to be playing a part – first with our Spanish Launch (late 2010) and now with the Italian launch & Clickeat’s acquisition. On the other hand the Italian food delivery market – together with the already vibrant e-commerce market – has been growing very fast during the last couple of years in Italy. We are excited and expect great results!

Italia – stiamo arrivando!!! :-)

Hi Giorgio, I think clickeat is a great service, but there are no many affiliated restaurants in the south of Italy. Which is the reason in your opinion?

Thanks for your comment! Clickeat used to focus mostly in the main cities of Rome and Milan however, with Just-Eat we plan to expand to cover the whole territory. It’s work in progress at the moment and it will take some time but we will get there!
